ASIA Terminals Inc (ATI) is adding five more rubber-tyre gantry cranes to expand capacity at Manila South Harbour as well as putting in six new side-loaders.

ATI is also launching its Vehicle Booking System (VBS), an automated system giving trucks 24-hour access to the port.

ATI's 2014 throughput grew 8.6 per cent to 1.02 million TEU, with strong growth seen at its Batangas terminal which posted 98,000 TEU, an increase of 762 per cent year on year, largely because of Manila congestion 75 kilometres to the north.
